Jimmy Zheng

Jimmy Zheng obtained his BS (2010) and MS (2011) in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Southern California, the latter with emphasis in Medical Devices and Diagnostics Engineering. He will be pursuing his PhD in Biomedical Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University. At USC, he has performed research at the Keck School of Medicine, Viterbi School of Engineering (EE and BME), and the LA Natural History Museum. He also worked for the Ostrow School of Dentistry for several years. Before arriving at the MDDF in January 2012, he has coauthored 9 papers and technical abstracts on cancer research. His interests are in biomechanics, mechanobiology, and tissue engineering, and his future research directions may involve bioprinting, neutron reflectometry/scattering, or protein engineering with relation to stem cells and government research.
